This technology will be part of a pilot program that requires trained employees to review offensive images.

"It means we can find this content before anyone reports it," the company added.



If anyone on the community operations team finds an offensive image, they would remove it or disable the account responsible for spreading it. If someone believes that Facebook has made a mistake, they will have the possibility of appealing the decision.

Previously, Facebook already had a pilot program that helps victims prevent content from being shared thanks to a digital fingerprint.



Those who suspect that an image of theirs could be used for extortion or revenge only have to send the photo they fear will be shared to one of the associations that work with the company.



The team will be in charge of ensuring that said image is recognized and will be assigned an identifier so that it can detect if someone spreads it and do the appropriate thing; the computer will put a unique digital signature on that content. This will make it impossible for anyone to publish it, as it will be deleted immediately. Afterwards, the images will be automatically deleted from the Facebook database automatically within seven days.
