What fear or longing does the term "spiritual gifts" bring to your mind?
The Corinthians apparently put the highest priority on one or two gifts. How would our Church look if all the members had the same gift or they prized one gift over all the others?
Think about how each one of the gifts Paul lists here (verses 8-11 and 28-30) might be manifested in our congregation.

Will this be like the Spiritual Gifts questionnaires we did a few years ago?

This is a different look at the gifts. To quote the author of the study: "It is hard for us to grasp the perspective that spiritual gifts are not for us, but for our service to others, not about finding our identity but rather living out our vocation."

What were the points from the Chief Apostle from Sunday's service?

They were the type of thoughts that you want to keep pondering, weren't they?
The Chief Apostle outlined three characteristics of the way Jesus served people around him:
• He respected the people have the freedom of decision; He did not threaten or order people • He tirelessly offered His word, His grace, and His help, regardless of whether people accepted His service or ignored it • He always considered a person’s carrying capacity; He only told His disciples as much as they could, never making a burden of what He taught.
Can we serve that way, too?
