We continue the Armor of God Bible study this week, featuring video written and presented by Priscilla Shirer.
Paul describes the Armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-20. This week the emphasis is on verse 14:
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
In the video, Priscilla will talk about how the belt of truth is your core support. It provides the essential backing you need when you're in the midst of spiritual war. When you're standing firm on the truth of God as revealed in His Word - when His truth is at the core of your existence - strength flows into every other area of your life.
And every session is tied together with prayer: 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
Before we watch the next video, we will talk a little about the "homework" from last week. Did you read the story of the Syrians trying to attack Elisha and his servant “seeing” the actual army before them in 2 Kings 6:8-23? How would you feel if you were the servant at first (v. 15) then after Elisha’s prayer (v.17)? What is your assessment of Elisha’s handling of the attack and his final solution? When have you befriended an enemy and changed the situation?
And the core question from last week was to think about the person or situation that is the most difficult and pressing in your life, and to analyze how Satan has personalized his approach to you by pressing a "hot button."

Here is something to think about in preparing for Wednesday's video and discussion.
The Roman soldier “girded his loins” with something more like a girdle than a belt, although it could also be used to hold other equipment. Think about the braces worn by Home Depot workers crossed with the Sam Browne belt of a policeman. Why would this be the first thing a soldier puts on? What spiritual attribute does Paul connect to this piece of apparel? Why do you think that this must come first in dressing for successful spiritual warfare with the enemy?
