We continue the Armor of God Bible study this week, featuring video written and presented by Priscilla Shirer.
Paul describes the Armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-20. This week the emphasis is on the second part of verse 14:
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
In the video, Priscilla will talk about how Roman soldiers wore the breastplate to protect the upper body and especially the heart. Wearing the breastplate could mean the difference between life and death. What the breastplate did for the Roman soldier's physical heart, righteousness does for your spiritual heart.
Before we watch the video, we will try again to talk a little about the "homework" from last week. An interesting item was to read Numbers 20:7-12. What was the Lord’s instruction? What portion did Moses follow, and which did he choose not to obey? What might have been Moses’ rationale for his decision? It becomes an example by which we can look at our own decision-making.

After the video, we discuss a few concepts, such as:
James 1:21-22 says: Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Why do you think James said we need to receive the Word that has already been implanted in us? Think of a verse from service or your daily reading or this study. How can we “receive” it instead of just reading or hearing it? Are there behaviors or attitudes in your life that you are honestly doubtful that you can ever change?
